Electro Cut Your Body Fat Study Shows 5 6 cm and 4 9 Reduction in Waist Body Fat in Young Women in 6 Weeks

No sweat, just some wires? Study shows: It does not take much effort to lose belly fat.
Liposuction is an invasive procedure that is not without risk. Against that background its no wonder that people are marketing alternative methods like high-frequency current therapy as allegedly safe go-to methods to rid yourself of unwanted body fat. The question is: Do these currents actually help you to lose body fat? That is: Can electrocuting your belly "electro-cut" significant amounts of body fat? Practitioners who use this technology will say "yes". From a scientific standpoint, though, the question is difficult to answer, because the use of high-frequency current therapy has been given little attention in the scientific community.

As Kim et al. point out in a recent paper in the J. Phys. Ther. Sci., some previous studies have failed to provide evidence for the effectiveness of high-frequency current therapy in women with obesity, whereas more recent studies have indicated that a high-frequency current therapy decreases female abdominal obesity (Kang. 2005; Han. 2010). Accordingly, their latest study aimed to determine whether high-frequency current therapy can be effectively used to reduce female abdominal obesity.
Some people claim coffee applied to the skin will also burn fat, but... well, you better drink it

To this ends, the researchers recruited twenty-two female volunteers who were randomly allocated to either the experimental group (EG) (n = 12; age, 21.17 ± 0.72 years; weight, 63.17 ± 7.91 kg; height, 159.63 ± 4.56 cm) or the control group (CG) (n = 10; age, 21.10 ± 0.74 years; weight, 68.79 ± 11.73 kg; height, 161.69 ± 5.25 cm). Inclusion criteria were as follows:
  • a body mass index (BMI) of ≥23 kg/m2 and a waist-hip circumference ratio of  ≥ 0.8013
  • no past or present neurological, musculoskeletal, or cardiopulmonary disorders that would have affected health condition;
  • no smoking and drinking habits; and
  • no psychological problems.
Futhermore, pregnant women were excluded as well. The subjects of both groups were asked to keep a regular dietary habit during the experimental process. A nutritionist drew up a diet plan of 2,000 to 2,500 kcal/day across 3 meals (8 a.m., 1 p.m., and 6 p.m.) for the 6-week intervention. In addition, subjects were asked to avoid extra activities and exercises beyond daily routine activities.
Figure 1. Changes in BMI, waist circumference, subcutaneous body fat and total body fat (%) after 18 sessions of high-frequency current therapy in Korean women (Kim. 2015).
Only the subjects in the EG group were subjected to high-frequency current therapy, with a frequency of 0.5 Mhz. The treatments were performed exclusively on the abdominal region while subjects were supine using specific equipment (CWM-9200; Chungwoo Medical, Seoul, South Korea) for 60 minutes, 3 times per week, for 6 weeks (a total of 18 sessions).
"High-frequency current therapy was performed in 2 phases: 2 sets of 15-minute applications of capacitive electric transfer (CET) and resistive electric transfer (RET) with the pulsed current option (current conduction time, 0.7 seconds; rest interval, 0.3 seconds) for the fist 3 weeks, followed by a 30-minute application of the CET and RET modes with continuous current conduction in the final 3 weeks. The intensity was individualized within a range of 6–7 mA to comfortably adjust the heating sensation during the intervention. An insulated electrode and a stainless steel electrode (8 cm in diameter) were used for the CET and RET modes, respectively. Conductive gel (Body Rubbing Cream; SA’COS, Incheon, South Korea) was used to facilitate skin moisture and current conduction, and high frequency current therapy was delivered by making circular motions of the electrode over the abdominal region at a moving speed of 5 cm/s, avoiding focused pressure on therapeutic areas" (Kim. 2015)
The comparison of the pre- vs. post-data showed here significant main effects of time with respect to waist circumference, abdominal obesity, subcutaneous fat mass, and body fat percentage, which differed significantly between the groups (see Figure 1), "suggesting the effects of high-frequency current therapy in decreasing obesity" (Kim. 2015).
Bottom line: I must say that I am impressed. I havent been there to control whether the scientists cheated, but considering the fact that the control group received the same controlled diet as the women in the experimental group, the loss of body fat and the reduction in waist circumference that was achieved within only 6 weeks in young women is impressive.

High frequency currents are also been used for cellulite treatment, but there are other options, as well | learn more
In the end, the mechanism of action is simple and is believed to rely mostly on the heat induced dilatation of subcutaneous vessels and the subsequent facilitation of the lipolytic process (Song. 2006). Which would also explain why the effect was highly localized and there were no significant inter-group difference with respect to the BMI of the women in the study at hand. A study that is yet limited by the low number of participants, a lack of safety data (no blood analyses, for example), the absence of measurements of the reductions in visceral fat and the lack of a rigid dietary and activity control as it would be possible in a metabolic chamber | Comment on Facebook!

5 20 2012 The 5 Bite Diet Day 6

Hi there, Spirits and Energy levels are good.

Wow, some of those recent comments gave me a lot to think of. Yes, that can be dangerous. Hahaha!!! I am so focused on "Will I make it through today" that sometimes I forget that this is just a weight reduction diet and not 5 Bites For LIFE. Yes this is teaching me "Portion Control" but as the diet claims, I will be able to eat anything within my........... my.............. Bite Range? Did I just come up with a new catch phrase? Anyway like I said I will be able to eat anything.

OK that all sounds great, but like I commented I have grown to love meat. Fatty Meat like BEEF RIBS. Ohhh my mouth waters at the thought. Hey I am not kidding. No I am not, not at all. Before Zero Carb I was not a big meat eater. I ate mostly poultry in the form of chicken. I like pork, but I could live without it. I cant see myself ever giving Beef up unless it was doing me some kind of damage. Dont get me wrong. I like bacon, pork sausage and so on.

Someone just had to mention the "E" word. Yes, I have been avoiding that subject. The "E" word? Come on ........ everyone one knows the "E" word. Ya know .... EXERCISE!!! OK so I have lost more than 100 lbs in the past without an ounce of exercise, so what. Look I am no fitness guru, but I know that exercise will make me stronger and as I get older I see the difference in my strength. I cant speak for yall, but for me: I need to get off my lazy "ARSE" and start the workouts.

Dave bought an Elliptical and he has a Soloflex and he is letting them collect dust.
OK, busted. I am lazy, I guess. Alright do I see a promise coming about. Not yes, but: HELL YES!!! Starting, tomorrow I will at least start the Elliptical. There I said it. I will report it in my daily post. I am working on a Soloflex routine at this time. I was going to "Launch" my fitness part of my diet sometime this week, but since I am being put on the "Spot" by C-TX and others I guess I will step it up.HA!

No more waiting. Drum roll please:

Tomorrow will mark a week on the 5 Bite Diet uninterrupted by illness. Jeez I was beginning to think I was cursed lol!!! I want a straight 30 days without anything getting in the way. No EXCUSES. Just pure effort. I experienced unrelated illnesses the first two times around.

Have a Healthy Day my Friends and Family. I have about three weeks to go. Wow where will this diet take me? Lets find out together.

Todays Menu: Black coffee, H20, Seltzer Water, Chinese Pork Steam Bun and Supreme Pizza.

6 10 2012 The 5 Bite Diet Day 27

Top of the day. My Spirits are great. My Energy levels are good.

Yet another short post. Things are fine. I am feeling good about all that has happened. I have to keep thinking about the prize. Yes, the prize at the end of all of this. There is so much other work that I need to do about my health I am not happy with my over all "state of being". I have a few improvements to tend to sooner or later. I just need to knock them down one at a time. That works for me. When I try too many things at once it gets bogged up and I dont finish what I start, well at least for the most part.

6 14 2012 Supplemental Good Day Sunshine

Greetings Friends. My Spirits and Energy levels are really good.

I made it or did I? That is up for interpretation. Some will say "Why yes Dave you sure did. Look at all the weight you loss." Some will say "Are you going to gain it all back?" OUCH!!! Ouch INDEED!!!

Hey it is the truth..... OK Dave what is the truth? Not one of his riddles......... AGAIN!

OK folks as promised my Summery of the 5 Bite Diet and my little thoughts of well of just whatever:

Riddle me this: What is the use of losing all this weight if I:

  1. Dont achieve good if not great health.
  2. Keep it off.
  3. If I .... I .... is there a number 3?
Is there a number three (3)? Who knows? Who cares........ well I for one do. So if any of you good folks out there want to throw a few words of wisdom please do so.

Look-it: At the end of the day I am oh so happy with the results. Why wouldnt I? I did rather good at the end of the day. I struggled, stumbled and fell a little. I always got myself up and continued. I suffered through non-related illnesses at the time or were they? Was the restriction of food a trigger? One day all of a sudden I go from eating pretty good to almost nothing. Hmmm.............. makes you think.

OK so now I am thinking. (DANGER, DANGER, DANGER!) I do agree with the 5 Bite Diet for weight loss and learning about portion control ....... but maybe, maybe.... for about a week or even two I should have gradually cut down my food to the point it was 5 bites instead of bam the very next day. Just a thought. A thought I just may take to heart on my next 30 day challenge.

Yes my Friends and Family there will be another 30 Day Challenge. Yet, I need a break for now and I will be what is called Maintenance. So what do you do on "Maintenance"? I will do my best to balance the amount I eat in order not to gain weight. I will try to "maintain" my current weight. I really dont want to weigh myself during this period and see if my instinct will prevail. Is that a good idea?

For those who know me see an "Experiment In-progress" HA!!! Man vs Machine. OK Dave lets not get a big head please lol! No really I do want to be able to live without the scale and this is a good opportunity to see how I fare. I need to learn one way of the other.

Will I share Maintenance? Well if I dont weigh myself and give updates on that, what can I share? I can share if I am on the straight and narrow, my menu, how much I ate, or what else. Would I just bore you to death. I wont have any results to report for at least a month. So you tell me. What would you like for me to report if I decide to share Maintenance. Please help. It will determine if I do it or not. If I do share it will be more like a Weekly Update with a few Supplemental to report anything else I add or come up with at the time. So you tell me.

OK I know this was not much of a Summery, so let me know whats on your mind and I will answer to the best of my ability. If you have specific questions about my Experience through the 5 Bite Diet or you just have a general question about the diet. I have the book and I will share. If I get enough questions I just might make a Supplemental Post out of it instead of just using the comment box. So it is in your hands. Field your questions and I will reply.

Have a Healthy Day my Friends and Family. Battles have been won, yet the War still rages on.There is no End, Just another Day. At least for now.

My Last BOW (?)

Cheers,

Dave

6 4 2012 The 5 Bite Diet Day 21

Greetings all. My Spirits are climbing. Energy levels are good.

Whats all this talk about carbs? Have you not learned your lesson? Havent you? No, I have not. I am desperately trying to find what carbs trigger uncontrollable eating and what do not. I actually can see the difference. This is always my opinion about ME. What works for you is what works for you. Yall should know by now that I like to experiment. I just do. I cant help myself. Was I an explorer in another life? HA!!!

Zero Carb for me will be a way of life for the most part, that I do know. Combined with Portion Control via The 5 Bite Diet and I could be well ............ INVINCIBLE!!!

That being said, I do feel that certain carbs that I have eating are OK with me in small quantities. I have been tracking on the side what carbs have been Naughty and Nice. Yes, I am making an "Avoid List for Life". There are very few at this time and I dont expect the list to grow much. Ya never know. I do love eating meat. I rather enjoy it a lot. So for the most part (a real BIG part) Zero Carb is for me, but not exclusively.

Results thus far:

(Please let me know if I mess up on my math below, I might add or subtract incorrectly)

Day 01 = (0.0) = 00.0 lbs loss current weight: 190.0 lbs (just starting)
Day 02 = (2.0) = 02.0 lbs loss current weight: 188.0 lbs (nice)
Day 03 = (1.6) = 03.6 lbs loss current weight: 186.4 lbs (this is how we do it)
Day 04 = (1.8) = 05.4 lbs loss current weight: 184.6 lbs (lovely)
Day 05 = (1.2) = 06.6 lbs loss current weight: 183.4 lbs (interesting)
Day 06 = (1.8) = 08.4 lbs loss current weight: 181.6 lbs (oh, yeah)
Day 07 = (1.2) = 09.6 lbs loss current weight: 180.4 lbs (keep it coming)
Day 08 = (0.4) =  10.0 lbs loss current weight: 180.0 lbs (Battle On!!!)
Day 09 = (0.8) =  10.8 lbs loss current weight: 179.2 lbs (Yo!)
Day 10 = (0.8) =  11.6 lbs loss current weight: 178.4 lbs (OK?)
Day 11 = (1.0) =  12.6 lbs loss current weight: 177.4 lbs (OK part 2)
Day 12 = (1.2) =  13.8 lbs loss current weight: 176.2 lbs (OK part 3)
Day 13 = (0.8) =  14.6 lbs loss current weight: 175.4 lbs (Jeez)
Day 14 =(+4.0) = 10.6 lbs loss current weight: 179.4 lbs (Just Shoot Me)
Day 15 =(+0.4) = 10.2 lbs loss current weight: 179.8 lbs (Hold the Line!!!)
Day 16 =  (1.0) = 11.2 lbs loss current weight: 178.8 lbs (Fighting Back)
Day 17 = (1.4) =  12.6 lbs loss current weight: 177.4 lbs (brig it on!)
Day 18 = (1.2) =  13.8 lbs loss current weight: 176.2 lbs (this is how we do it)
Day 19 = (1.0) = 14.8 lbs loss current weight: 175.2 lbs (talk to me)
Day 20 = (0.8) = 15.6 lbs loss current weight: 174.4 lbs (Oh my, my)
Day 21 = (1.0) = 16.6 lbs loss current weight: 173.4 lbs (all time LOW!)

Right! So I hit an all time low period. I surpassed my Zero Carb all time low of 174 lbs. I have stumbled and fell many times, because of my outright fault. I love to do side experiments to push myself into other domains. I paid the price a few times, but gained knowledge. Lucky for me that I dont "give up" or "give in" easily.

I will bloody well crawl my way back. I will fight tooth and nail to get  to the top of my game, that you can always count on. I am by no means perfect that is so true. One thing is for sure I refuse to go down for the count. I will spring up back on my feet time after time. There is no going back to 280 lbs, no not ever. I do these things for ME. It is easy to say "Just follow directions and all be fine" Sorry not in my case. I am not made like that. Never have been and never will. It is just my nature and that is something I can not change in that regard. It must be the "Anti-Sheeple" in me. Bullheaded I do agree.
